NNEC GRADUATES 30 OFFICERS

Wednesday 5 November 2014 marked the graduation ceremony of the Officers Application Course 13 and Special Duty Officers Course 8 which commenced on 7 November 2013. It was an August event that brought to an end, the one year training course for 30 Officers of both Marine and Weapon Engineering schools. The naval officers, after fulfilling all requirements and showing their continuous readiness to serve the Nigerian Navy and the nation at large were issued their certificates. NNEC is known to offer various engineering courses, well equipped with her team of seasoned instructors and staff and has produced capable engineering officers and men in Nigerian Navy.

The special guest of honour, Vice Admiral UO Jibrin, the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) was ably represented by Rear Admiral SU Chinweuba, the Chief of Naval Engineering (CONE) and was warmly received by the Commandant of the College Real Admiral AA Yusuf upon arrival and was led to the auditorium for the graduation proper. In his speech, the SGOH expressed his satisfaction and urged graduands to put their knowledge into positive use for their own benefit and for the Nigerian Navy. He commended the Commandant of the College for his efforts on the successful completion of the course.

Other distinguished personalities who graced the occasion includes the Flag Officer Commanding, Logistic Command Real Admiral BA Egbedina, Commander, the Fleet Support Group, Commodore AA Ajatoye and other notable dignitaries.

Rear Admiral SU Chinweuba presented the prestigious scrolls to graduands who neatly turned out to receive them. Some of the officers who were able to carve a niche for themselves both in character and in learning were given accolades and various awards. These include Slt LO Olukani, the best graduating student in Weapon Engineering School and Slt AC Emelogu, the best graduating student in Marine Engineering School.

The Climax of the occasion was the formal unveiling of the College’s Official Website designed by one of the College’s Ex-Corp member in the fulfillment of his Community Development Service.

The event closed on a lighter note with a lot to eat and drink.
